The Turn of a Phrase

I was thinking about the saying, “enough is enough” and have only heard it in the context of – enough already, stop asking, enough is enough. And, it is usually delivered with a tone of exasperation. However, I was thinking about what it might actually mean and here is something for you to consider.

What if “enough is enough” is taken literally? Then it might mean you are enough or what you do is enough. “I am enough” is very powerful and helps us let go of the need for perfection, of trying to do more, of trying to live up to other people’s expectations or your own expectations. It frees you to explore without needing to get it right. It allows you to be who you are rather than trying to be more or different. You are enough.
