The Beauty of Tuscany

My husband, John, and I have been enjoying the beauty of Tuscany this week. It is truly nourishing for the soul. I’ll let the pictures suffice today. Ciao!

This is a sculpture of St. Francis of Assisi meditating at San Damiano. The monastery and the surrounding area are very serene.

I had hoped to see fields of poppies and I was not disappointed. They are along the roadside everywhere. Every time I see them I smile! So, lots of smiling in Tuscany.

This group of Cypress trees is only a few minutes from our apartment. The whole countryside is a feast for the eyes.

Such beauty!

This beautiful stained glass window is in the Duomo in Siena. The colors captivated me.

I was entranced by the look on this young woman’s face as she made her offering.

The view of the Duomo from way up high. We had to climb lots of very tiny, spiral steps to get up here. You could barely fit one foot on them at a time.

Green Fields and Lone Cypress from Podere Cunina, BuonconventoThis is the view from sunset last night at our apartment. I love all of the different colors and textures of green. This is only one aspect of the view we have each night as we have a glass of wine and talk about the adventures of our day!
