Do You Claim What You Want?

Do you claim what you want? Or, for that matter, do you even know what you want? On the surface I know that sounds like a question that you would answer, “Of course I know what I want!” However, I am going to challenge you a little bit. Sometimes we don’t let ourselves think about what we might want even in the quiet of our own minds. It might be that you have a feeling that you don’t deserve things, you might be overwhelmed by all of the choices, you might not have practice allowing yourself to think about what you want, and the list goes on and on.

I encourage you to think about what it is that you really want. Let your mind wander, explore and step away from the practical, logical. Allow your mind to take some flights of fancy as you think about what are the things that you want. Then claim at least one of those wants. Take one step to manifest it. That step may be research to learn more about that particular “want,”  it might be purchasing a heart’s desire, creating a “work of art” for fun, or even repurposing something so it fits for you in your current life.

Sit with this question awhile, “Do you claim what you want?” If this is a challenge for you, as it is for many people, see if you can practice allowing yourself to want something. It could be more time, a tangible item, a creative outlet, a more vital business, or simply a space to be still. This seems like an easy task and yet if this is something you haven’t let yourself do it may be daunting. Be gentle with yourself as you allow yourself the space to explore the possibilities. And, enjoy the journey.
