When I speak with people, they often express that they want to make a difference in this world. They talk about not quite knowing what they want to do or how they might do it, they just know they want to make a difference. They want to matter! What contribution would you like to make?
Sometimes the difference is smiling at a stranger or giving an encouraging nod. The difference might be teaching a child something new. Sometimes the difference is doing your job with enthusiasm. Your difference might be creating a not-for-profit, delivering services to people who “fall through the cracks”. Sometimes the difference is fully embracing who you are and what you have to offer.
Here’s the difference I would like to make in the world. I want to help people recognize that they are important, that they are up to something. I want to help them find the place inside where they feel empowered to live the life they were meant to live. That place where they can be who they are, fully.
I want to help people who are at an impasse. They are fed up with going along the same way that they have been. They know there’s more, but don’t know how to get it or who to ask. They want more peace and joy in their life and are tired of struggling with the same thing over and over and over. They want to feel OK about who they are and are tired of pretending. They want more clarity and to stop feeling like they are spinning their wheels. They want someone to point them in a direction and help them figure out what is the next step and the next step and the next step that will bring them out of the place of stuck or giving up and into the place of “I can do it and I like who I am.”
I resonate with people who have been judging themselves harshly. I want to show them how to lighten up about themselves and others – to see how they naturally “do” and to see how to create workable ways to tap into the ways they know least about (their lowest Life Energy). I resonate with people who are actively searching for answers/solutions – people who are tired of treading water, people who are tired of the same old, same old that hasn’t been working and who are ready to take a step toward embracing who they are.
There’s no surprise, but how I want to make a difference in the world is an expression of my Life Purpose of Guide. What difference do you want to make in the world?
